Expédition canot-camping

Mistassibi Northwest Canoe – 7 days

Thanks to its impressive flow, the Mistassibi River stands out in Quebec and around the world as one of the most spectacular rivers, offering an ideal terrain for whitewater sports. The Mistassibi’s very low ridership combined with its breathtaking scenery have earned it the title of wild river of mid-northern Quebec. The Fédération québécoise de canot-camping gives it a 4-star rating.

You have questions or simply need advice to discover the wonders of the fjord, our adventure experts are there to support you.

What to expect

The Mistassibi River rises north of the 50th parallel and flows south into Lac St-Jean. This 7-day, 80 km expedition is of intermediate level. The first few kilometers of the river meander lazily through a mountainous landscape ideal for wildlife observation. Lac au Foin, with its majestic panorama, is a must on this descent. This is followed by a succession of rapids of different levels, from RI to RIII, all the way to the river exit. Along the way, the sometimes steep valley offers breathtaking scenery.
